Michael Savage Announces "Significant" Seed Grant to Paul Revere Society
Please contact us if you are interested in providing a countering seed grant to the Frederick Douglass Society. Funding (among other initiatives) would go to assisting "Street Spirit", a newspaper focusing on "Justice News & Homeless Blues in the Bay Area" go online. We've already been in contact with the editor of the paper, Terry Messman, about this, but haven't had the resources to follow up.

Where does the money go?
- Funds go to support perpetuation of the "leftopathic agenda", including web site updates, stipends for authors, and the Frederick Douglass Papers project (note: the society is not in any way associated with this project, we just admire the work they are doing, and desire to support it any way we can).
- Benefits include:
- discounts on society dinners and other events
- a sponsor member card, and
- a certificate suitable for hanging on your office or cubicle wall.

Frederick Douglass Society Dinners:
Once a month, our host, Thomas Leavitt, offers new and existing members of the
Frederick Douglass Society an opportunity to meet and greet each other.
Non-members can join us for dinner for a mere $30.00 (pays for dinner, non-alcoholic drink and dessert if desired), and existing members can join us for dinner for only $20.00:
Please pay at least 48 hours in advance, and enclose your first and last name with payment, so that we can ensure that space is available.

- Friday, September 20th, 8 p.m. - 10 p.m., Saturn Cafe - enjoy some of the best onion rings in town
- Friday, October 18th, 8 p.m. - 10 p.m., Santa Cruz Diner - fish and chips is this month's theme
